(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – As late as December 13th, 2012, Member of Parliament (MP) for South and Central Eleuthera, Hon. Damian Gomez, announced once again to the local audience, this time at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Governor’s Harbour, that the ground breaking ceremony for the planned mini-hospital in Palmetto Point would take place before the end of that year. This did not materialise, however Mr. Gomez in a recent interview said that despite the delay the projects are still on target.

The MP, who was  on island Friday, January 18th, 2013 in his capacity as Minister of State in the Ministry of Legal Affairs to attend a public meeting to discuss new Intellectual Property legislation being introduced in February 2013, said that the survey plans had experienced delays but that both the hospital and the new clinic in Rock Sound were still on target.

Gomez added that along with the new administrative complex planned for construction in Governor’s Harbour, all three projects are projected to start construction between now and September of 2013.
