On December 23rd, 2012, The Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations (BAAA) hosted a Gala Luncheon at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Hotel to honour The Bahamas’ elite Senior and Junior Track & Field Athletes, Coaches, Officials and Team Managers for their outstanding athletic performances in international competitions and contributions to the Bahamas during the 2012 season.

Kristina Knowles (Central Eleuthera), Keianna Albury (North Eleuthera) and Andre Colebrook (Central Eleuthera) were among the athletes from Eleuthera recognised for their outstanding accomplishments in Track & Field this past year as a part of the 2012 Carifta team. Andre was also further distinguished as the recipient of the Sir Durward Knowles Family Island Athlete of the year award. The ‘Golden Knights’ 4 x400 relay team, which include two young men from Eleuthera – Chris Brown of Wemyss Bight and Ramon Miller, a descendant of Current Island, were also honoured during the Gala Event.
