(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Police in Eleuthera are investigating two incidents and are requesting the public’s assistance.

Incident – Rock Sound

Sometime around 4:45pm on the 29th of December, 2012, police received information that a partially decomposed body of a black male was found on the beach near the Sea Shells Resort in Rock Sound.  Police responded and found the body, in the early stages of decomposition, lying in the sand. He was examined by medical Dr. Ajero and no signs of life were found. The deceased was nude and clad in a pair of socks and fins.  His age has been estimated to be between late 30’s and early 40’s. 

The body was secured and flown into Nassau on Sunday, December 30th, 2012 at about 11:10 am.  On Monday, December 31, 2012, police will canvass the area and the neighbouring communities to determine if there are any relatives unclaimed.  Anyone with relatives not heard from in the past few days are asked to please contact the local police.

Incident – Green Castle

At 11pm on Saturday evening, December 29th, 2012, police received information that a male from Green Castle, South Eleuthera, was at the Wemyss Bight clinic, and was unresponsive.  The man (under 40) had reportedly been complaining of chest pains earlier in the week on Thursday. The male’s girl friend, who works at Club 9000 was said to have found him at his home, unresponsive.  She is said to have arrived at his home around 10:30 pm, and police were called shortly at 11pm.  The cause of death is currently unknown. The body was transported to Nassau on Sunday, December 30th for autopsy.  The man’s name is currently not being published pending the proper notification of  the next of kin.
