(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Tarpum Bay was rich with color, music and dance on Tuesday evening, December 25th, 2012. It was a splendid end to Christmas Day on the isle of Freedom where Tourists and Locals alike, gathered to see what is termed the “All Eleuthera” Junkanoo celebration. In reality it was more of Central and South Eleuthera Junkanoo with three groups representing Rock Sound, hosts Tarpum Bay and Hatchet Bay.
The results were as follows:
First: Tarpum Bay – 364 pts; Second: Rock Sound – 307pts; Third: Hatchet Bay – 295 pts.
Best Banner: Tarpum Bay 1st, Rock Sound 2nd, Hatchet Bay 3rd
Off Shoulder: Tarpum Bay (Fire Face) 1st, Hatchet Bay (Lions Den) 2nd, Rock Sound (Arawak Indians) 3rd.
Best Head Costume: Tarpum Bay (7 Headed Dragon) 1st, Tarpum Bay (Mother) 2nd, Rock Sound (Fruits) 3rd.
Best Choreographed Dance: Rock Sound (1st), Tarpum Bay (2nd), Hatchet Bay (3rd)
