On Tuesday 18th September 2012, sometime around 11:00pm, police received information that a male resident of Pine Dale Eight Mile Rock was involved in an altercation with a group of men and was stabbed.
Uniform and plain clothes officers responded and upon arrival at the home discovered a male with stab wounds to the chest.
The fifty year old victim was transported by ambulance to the Rand Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead by doctor.

This matter is under active police investigation.
**POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT **
Police are investigating a shooting incident that has left a 23 year old male of West Street in Hospital with gunshot injury to the buttocks. The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 9:00 pm on Tuesday 18th September, 2012. Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was in a yard on Cambridge Street off Baillou Hill Road when the incident occurred. The victim was taken to hospital where is detained in stable condition. Active police investigations continue.
**POLICE SEEK HELP IN LOCATING ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS**
Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating two (2) men responsible for an armed robbery. The incident reportedly occurred around 9:30 pm on Tuesday 18th September, 2012 at a business establishment on Sandilands Village Road. According to reports the men, both of whom were allegedly armed with handguns entered the establishment and demanded cash. The culprits robbed the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area in a white vehicle driven by another male.
Police are investigating and appealing to members of the public who may have any information that can lead to the arrest of these suspects to contact police.

Police are investigating a house-fire that has left a 54 year old male with superficial burns to the face and arms. The incident reportedly occurred around 8:49 pm on Tuesday 18th September, 2012 at a home on Gladstone Road
