(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – In recent weeks, Eleuthera has seen a transformation in leadership in several top posts, which has led to the appointment of three women in key posts on the island. In Central Eleuthera, Savannah Sound native, Maragaret Symonette has been appointed to the position of Administrator in the District taking over from Chrisfield Johnson, a Lower Bogue native who was in the position for one year.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force, has ended the tenure of Superintendent Elburt Ferguson as Officer in Charge of Eleuthera after 1 1/2 years and in his place, Superintendent Ismella Davis now stands.
Newly appointed Eleuthera District (Education) Superintendent, Helen Simmons-Johnson
The third woman to assume a top position on the island, is Superintendent Helen Simmons-Johnson who this week took over from out going Superintendent Harcourt Davis. Davis had been on the island for one year.
