Eleuthera Gymnasts Shine in Florida, Bringing Home 31 Medals

The Island Dance and Gymnastics team recently returned from a triumphant trip to Florida, where they competed in three prestigious competitions and brought home an impressive haul of 31 medals. The five-member team, representing Eleuthera and The Bahamas, showcased their skills in gymnastics, capturing the attention of both judges and audiences.

Aubrey-Skye Munnings, a Level 2 gymnast, demonstrated remarkable strength and poise, earning a second-place finish on the beam with a score of 9.575 and a fourth-place finish on the uneven bars with a score of 9.575.

Cordesha Pierre, a Level 3 gymnast, also excelled, securing second place on the beam with a score of 9.325 at the Presidential Classic competition. She also earned second place at the Magical Classic with a score of 9.1.

The team’s success is a testament to the dedication and hard work of both the athletes and their coach, Ashley-Aria Knowles. Island Dance and Gymnastics, based in Spanish Wells, draws gymnasts from all over Eleuthera, providing a platform for young athletes to develop their skills and reach their full potential.

“We are incredibly proud of our team’s achievements,” said Ashley-Aria, head coach of Island Dance and Gymnastics. “They have worked tirelessly and have truly shown their talent and dedication. This is just the beginning for these young athletes, and we are excited to see what they will accomplish in the future.”

Island Dance and Gymnastics is now accepting registrations for new gymnasts for the 2025 season. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the gym for more information.
