New Preston H. Albury Track Taking Form in South Eleuthera

The legacy grass athletics track facility at the Preston H. Albury High School, during early March, was in the process of getting a full makeover, with a new asphalt track being built by Bahamas Striping Group of Companies (BSGC)/Caribbean Pavement Solutions (CPS).

Central and South Eleuthera’s member of parliament, the Hon. Clay Sweeting shared in a recent social media post, “Central & South Eleuthera is reaching another milestone through a transformative partnership… The faculty and staff of Preston Albury High School, along with the wider Eleuthera sporting community, are thrilled to welcome the construction of a state-of-the-art track and field facility. Investing in youth and sports development has always been a key pillar of our vision, and this project is yet another testament to our commitment to empowering young athletes and fostering community growth.”

On Monday, March 10th, as large trucks and other heavy equipment were hard at work compacting the base of the new track structure, a CPS engineer on-site, said that the anticipated time until completion was approximately two weeks.

BSGC, commenting on progress during the same week, stated, “Our CPS team has been hard at work doing the final grade, moving one step closer to delivering a world-class track for the students of Eleuthera… This track isn’t just about athletics – it’s about opportunity. It will give young athletes a professional training ground, inspire future champions like Eleuthera’s Chris Brown, and open doors to scholarships and careers in sports. Eleuthera’s talent deserves a stage, and we’re building it.”
