District 7020 Rotaractors from 10 Caribbean countries. These countries  include These countries include Anguilla, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Maarten, St. Martin, Turks and Caicos and the US Virgin Islands.

 

Philipsburg, St. Maarten – Representatives from the Rotaract Club of Eleuthera attended the 2015 Rotaract District 7020 Conference in St. Maarten in May. One hundred and fifty (150) Rotaractors from ten countries were present for the four day conference of fellowship and learning (May 26-31). The Club’s Vice President and President Elect Kenwood Cartwright and Secretary Shapreka Clarke were in attendance.  

Conference events were designed to advance the objective of Rotaract, “fellowship through service,” through thought provoking discussions, inspirational addresses, development and training workshops, and collaborative project planning. 

During the conference Rotaract Club of Eleuthera was awarded Bronze level recognition for the District Rotaract Representative Award of Excellence, the Zone 34 Rotaract Award and the Phoenix Award “in recognition of a Remarkable Rotaract year and Rising Above all Challenges”.  Secretary Shapreka Clarke was awarded Rotaractor of the Year “in recognition of Selfless Dedication and Service to her club and her community”.  

Incoming President Kenwood noted that the conference was an experience of a life time.  

“Conference provided the opportunity to meet, network and fellowship with Rotaractors from all over the Caribbean. It was crazzzy!”, said an ecstatic Kenwood. 

The Rotaract Board for 2015-2016 includes: Kenwood Cartwright, Incoming President and International Service Director; Shapreka Clarke, Vice President, Secretary and Public Relations Director; Gacintha Gordon, Treasurer and Fundraising Director; Henry Allen, Sergeant at Arms; Ronald Carey, Community Service Director; Tempess Johnson, Club Service Director; Devanna McCartney, Membership Director; Will Simmons, Professional Development Director.  Other members include: Keva Rolle, Telson Knowles and Jessica Swain.  

Rotaractors are planning events, activities and speakers according to the district calendar and themes for the upcoming year.  The Rotaract year culminates with a ceremonial changeover of newly elected officials and club activities will resume in July.

The Rotaract Club of Eleuthera looks forward to continued growth and development in the upcoming year.  They are looking to recruit other young professionals ages 18-30 who are aligned with the vision of “Fellowship through Service”.
