(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Much of Eleuthera was today, May 5th, 2015, drenched during the passage of a cluster of severe thunderstorms, as a part of a trough moving northward across the Central and Northwest Bahamas. The weather system dumped a deluge of rain causing flash flooding in low lying areas. The pictures displayed and the video show severe flooding in low lying areas of Harbour Island.
The photo above shows a virtual chasm that was gouged in a quarry road by the torrential rainfall. This path leads to the ‘narrows’ in Briland, where many of the affluent residents and part-time residents of Harbour Island live.
