When most of us hear the word cancer, we automatically think of death! The Cancer Society of The Bahamas Eleuthera Branch is passionate about changing that! We aim to offer HOPE to the people of Eleuthera through the initiatives that we promote. As you may also be aware, treating cancer is no easy task and finding the finances to do it is equally as challenging because many of our people do not have medical insurance and they depend on our organization to assist them.
Hence the HOPE BALL is one of our biggest fundraisers. We are hours away from pulling off this event and we like to encourage you, if you haven’t already done so to please support this worthy cause. We plan a fun filled evening on Saturday, 7th March beginning @ 6:30 pm with cocktails and at 7:30pm a 4 course Dinner will be served. We have about 25 fabulous prizes to raffle and it promises to be a night to remember! Our 40 Day Wellness Challenge winners will also be announced and this is so exciting to us.
Part proceeds go towards THE ELEUTHERA IMAGING PROGRAM as we partner with several organizations such as The Rotary Clubs of The Bahamas, The One Eleuthera Foundation and several others to purchase a mammogram and ultrasound machine for the island of Eleuthera. This program will change the course of history on our island as we deal with one of the most devastating diseases affecting our women – breast cancer. We also continue to offer support to those on our island suffering from other types of cancer as well.
Many of you have responded by donating or volunteering your time and talents and we appreciate all that you have done. Those of you that are still contemplating, please join us in changing a cancer diagnosis by offering HOPE.
