At the Glass Window Bridge on Friday, January 30th, the seas were back to normal. As the deep blue water of the Atlantic bashed and churned under the bridge, the turquoise water on the other side, barely rippled as divers snorkled.

Tranquility returned to Governor’s Harbour with only a small amount of sand and sea moss to tell the tale of earlier in the week. The Barrier is also gone from the bay front street and tihe sink hole has been filled by quarry, so the road has been re-opened to traffic.

Meanwhile, in Eleuthera this week, among other happenings, the Senior Administrator of Central Eleuthera, Charles King, said goodbye and on January 28th handed over to a newcomer, Mr. Joseph Ferguson (shown on right).  Ferguson spent time as a teacher at the former Governor’s Harbour High School, and as Administrator in Harbour Island in previous years, so he is no stranger to the island.  Administrator King now moves on to take up the reins as Administrator of the city of Freeport in Grand Bahama.
