NASSAU, The Bahamas (May 2, 2014) – Today it was announced that the Wyndham Nassau Resort will become the Crystal Palace Training Hotel, effective May 2, 2014.
The multi-million-dollar hospitality training effort, one of the country’s largest private training programs, will train Bahamians who are in pursuit of career opportunities at the $3.5 billion Baha Mar development, currently in its final stages of construction. Upon opening, Baha Mar will become one of the country’s largest non-Government employers.
“The Crystal Palace Training Hotel will be a major element in our long-term efforts to help build the country’s tourism infrastructure,” said Paul Pusateri, Baha Mar’s Chief Operating Officer. “This investment will help ensure that our team members meet Baha Mar’s highest service standards, and provide our employees the opportunity to develop newskills and advance their careers.”
The property will cease to operate as a Wyndham-branded resort on May 2, 2014. Today’s announcement will not result in layoffs and the operations of the Crystal Palace casino will continue.
Banquet halls, meeting rooms and other facilities at the Crystal Palace Training Hotel will serve as training and serving areas, becoming an integral part of Baha Mar’s multi-million-dollar hospitality training effort that includes the Casino Dealer school scheduled to open in July 2014.
