Re-opening of the Arthur’s Town Airport, Cat Island
Further to the notice remitted on the 18th February, 2014, advising the temporary closure of the Arthur’s Town airport, the Bahamas Civil Aviation Department (BCAD) is pleased to inform the public that the works to the runway at the Arthur’s Town Airport have been completed and, with effect today, 21st February, 2014, has re-opened and is fully operational.
The Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) has issued a notice to all airmen (NOTAM), ref. A0019/14, in this regard.
(Cat Island, Bahamas) – The public is informed that in order to mitigate against any risk to safety as a result of runway works to the runway at Arthur’s Town Airport, the Bahamas Civil Aviation Department (CAD) has temporarily closed the Arthur’s Town airport, effective Tuesday, 18th February, 2014. The Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) has issued a notice to all airmen (NOTAM), in this regard. It is anticipated that the airport will be re-opened on 26th February, 2014. The Bahamas Civil Aviation Department is coordinating this work along with the Ministry of Works, to ensure that these short term repairs do not become overly disruptive. The Department of Civil Aviation apologises for any inconvenience caused as a result of the temporary closure of the airport.
