According to police reports, a  44 year old man of the state of Georgia (USA), was unharmed after his single engine aircraft crash landed in waters north of Exuma.

The incident occurred around 7:45 am on Tuesday 6th August, 2013 after the pilot left Ft. Lauderdale International Airport in Florida en route to Brazil when his red and white Cessna aircraft developed engine problems.

The pilot was able to crash land the aircraft safely, about 20 miles north of Exuma in waters at Lee Stalking Island and Gold Ring Cay. The aircraft was not damaged and towed to the main land of Exuma by officers.

Police say that active investigations continue.
