Bronz Medal Game winners Spanish Wells Sluggers with coaches Delaeno Cartwright and Domonique Hall

 

(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – The Eleuthera Junior Baseball League of Rock Sound hosted the 2nd Annual Bahamas Baseball Federation 11-12 Mini Tournament in Rock Sound on the week-end past. Participating teams were the Junior Baseball League of Nassau (JBLN), Grand Bahama Little League (GBLL), Exuma Baseball League of George Town (EBLGT), Spanish Wells Baseball League (SWBL), and the host team the Eleuthera Junior Baseball League of Rock Sound. The visiting teams were hosted at the Camp Bahamas Ministries Camp Site which is located between Tarpum Bay and Savannah Sound, Eleuthera.

The games format was a Round Robin with 4 innings or one hour, whichever came first. The games began promptly at 9:00 am Saturday morning, and finished at 6:30 pm. At the end of the day, JBLN led with a 4 win – 0 lost record, GBLL had a 3 win – 1 lost record, SWBL and EJBL both had a 1 win – 2 lost record, and Exuma had a 0 wins – 3 lost record.

On Sunday at 10:00 am the Spanish Well Baseball League and the Eleuthera Junior Baseball League squared off in an exciting Bronz Medal Game, which was won by the Spanish Wells team with a score of 4-2. At 12:30 am the Junior Baseball League of Nassau and the Grand Bahama Little League teams hit the field for the Gold Medal Game. JBLN proved to be the better team that day as they rolled over the GBLL team by the score of 8-0 and took the Gold Medal. Young pitching sensation Daalen Adderley received the Most Valuable Player Award for his all around play, which made his coach Dominic Elliott proud.

The 2013 Tournament closed out with a bang, and all the teams are already looking forward to returning in 2014. See you there!
