Coach Peter Pratt working with students at North Eleuthera High School in Lower Boque

On Friday, February 8th, IAAF level 5 Track & Field Coach Mr. Peter Pratt,  worked with students at the North Eleuthera High School practicing track & field training, running techniques and jumps during a two day training camp.

Mr. Pratt, who currently serves as the Senior Master at the Government High School was the first Bahamian to win a Carifta Medal and more recently, coached Olympic athletes in Saudi Arabia for three years.

On day two, Saturday, February 9th, Coach Pratt again worked with athletes from North Eleuthera High, as well as students from North Eleuthera Primary, Spanish Wells All Age & Harbour Island All Age schools. The purpose of this weekend training camp was to expose Eleuthera athletes to proper training techniques in running and jumping.

Clifton Gaitor, local Coach and Sharon Cox, Physical Education teacher, spent the day at the high school observing & assisting. 

A number of North Eleuthera High School students who took part in the training were asked to describe their experience working with Mr. Pratt.   Ramuleus Brown stated that it helped improve his jumps and strides. Gabrielle Cox said she enjoyed working with Mr. Pratt, and that she had learned a lot from his teaching. Amanda Turnquest shared that she had an amazing experience overall and Deshawn Seymore said that he found Mr. Pratt to be a great teacher.

According to administrators at the North Eleuthera High School, they are hoping to make this training camp annual event.
