NASSAU, The Bahamas (Sept. 2, 2019) — While the entire country is mourning the devastation we’ve already learned has taken place in Abaco and anxiously awaiting to assess the damage Hurricane Dorian will wreak on Grand Bahama, the following Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty offices will be accepting monetary donations and supplies: Lyford Cay and Shirley Street offices in Nassau (open Tuesday, Sept. 3), Spanish Wells, Harbour Island and Governors Harbour on mainland Eleuthera (all open today).
In addition to acting as drop-off points for supplies and donations, Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty will be accepting donations via PayPal for those who are abroad, or unable to get out onto the roads due to flooding. “We are incredibly heartbroken over the damage Hurricane Dorian has brought throughout Abaco, to say the least, and we are on edge as we await news from Grand Bahama,” said Lana Rademaker, Chief Brokerage Officer for Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty. “Our top priority right now is to get as much help to our Bahamian family as quickly as possible and to provide as much aid as we can. We feel truly blessed that New Providence escaped the brunt of the storm, and that we have the opportunity to do as much as we possibly can for those who weren’t as fortunate.”
Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty agent, Darrin Sands, is also organizing a community relief effort in Spanish Wells for those affected by Hurricane Dorian. Details regarding this will be communicated through our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/DamianosSothebysRealty/.
“The people of Abaco were so helpful to us after Hurricane Andrew in 1992 when we had a great need, and we will now return the favor and help to meet their needs,” Sands said.
