(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – An operation by law enforcement on the island was conducted overnight in North Eleuthera resulting in a number of people being detained.
Operation ‘WRIGHT HOOK’, a joint effort, headed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Eleuthera Branch, under Supt. Christopher Wright, and the Department of Immigration, was carried out in Spanish Wells and Russell Island during the early morning hours on Thursday, February 23rd, 2017.
According to officials, the operation resulted in the apprehension of 12 people, of Haitian origin, suspected of entering the country illegally. The group consisted of seven males and five females.
Police also conducted road checks and conducted a walk about through the community.
