The Eleuthera Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force welcomed the new Bahamas Commissioner of Police, Ms. Shanta Knowles, home, for their annual church service, held at St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Rock Sound, South Eleuthera on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, under the theme, “Renewing Our Courage, Integrity, and Loyalty.”
Ms. Knowles, who is the first female Commissioner of Police, hails from Wemyss Bight and Rock Sound. She attended the special service, along with top senior officers from New Providence, as well as the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band. St. Luke’s, as the ‘home church’ of the new Police Commissioner, saw a large turnout of both police officers as well as residents of Eleuthera. Commissioner Knowles, during the service, thanked all who had attended, and for the support given – singling out her mother, Mrs. Felease Knowles, with special thanks.

Following the service, Rock Sound residents were treated to a march procession by the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band, and a luncheon was hosted for Commissioner Knowles and her team.
