A passenger who reportedly, passed away, while on board a cruise ship in The Bahamas, was discovered on Monday morning, November 23rd, 2015, while the cruise vessel was docked near Princess Cays at the southern end of Eleuthera. The deceased passenger, Mr. J. Goodfellow, who was said to have been advanced in age, was discovered unresponsive by his partner of 20 years, Mr. A. Goodfellow, from Tennessee in the U.S.
The body of the deceased passenger was transferred on Monday evening to the morgue in Harbour Island, where it remained up to Tuesday midday. The partner of the deceased, accompanied the body to Harbour Island and was met by Ministry of Tourism representatives and accommodated at a resort on the island overnight on Monday.
On Tuesday, November 24th, 2015, Mr. A. Goodfellow traveled into New Providence via Southernair on the midday flight, while the body was transferred via a charter flight into New Providence, which left near the same time. A family member was also said to have been flown into New Providence by the cruise line to be with the bereaved passenger.
It is expected that an autopsy will have to be completed, before the body of the deceased is released for return to the U.S.
