(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – On 9th -10th, March, 2015, recruiters from Sandals Resort in Emerald Bay, Exuma held job fairs in South, Central, and North Eleuthera in search of Eleuthera’s top talent. Candidates interviewed for open positions as turn down attendants, room attendants, spa attendants, concierge attendants, cooks, dining room servers, bartenders, and entertainment social hosts.
The Department of Labour Eleuthera, prepared job seekers for interviews by offering a job readiness workshop the week prior to the job fair. The workshop focused on resume writing, interview skills, business professional attire and soft skills. In addition, Mrs. Marsilette Patram from the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture partnered with the Department of Labour to advertise the job fair and prepare candidates for interviews.

Mrs. Antoinette Bowleg, Human Resources Manager at Sandals Emerald Bay, gave a presentation on the internship programme to students from Preston H. Albury and North Eleuthera High School. The programme provides a small stipend, housing and training for recent high school graduates who would like to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. Interested applicants may pick up an application from the Department of Labour office located in Governor’s Harbour.
“ My team at the labour department is dedicated to helping Bahamians find employment. I am excited to know that people have been offered jobs in Exuma and will soon gain new skills,” said Kalin Griffin, Assistant Director of Labour.
