(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – A Harbour Island family on Thursday, December 11th, were not at home when the roof of their residence caught fire according to officials. Police were called to the scene, on Trianna Shores, on the southern end of the Island, at about 10am.

Along with volunteer firef–ighters, they were able to extinguish the blaze but not before extensive damage had occurred to the southern section of the roof, of the two storey stone structure, where the Durham family resides. 

According to Police in Harbour Island, the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and is currently under active investigation.
