Fifty three (53) pints of much need blood were collected over a two day period at the clinic in Governor’s Harbour at the end of November by The Health Association of Central Eleuthera (HACE). The volume collected surpassed the average total collected regularly in New Providence by the Blood Bank during the span of a week, according to Chairman of HACE, Mr. Chris Gosling.

Everette Miller, Head of the Princess Margaret Hospital Blood Bank; Glen Roberts, Phlebotomy Technician; and Gennean Cleare, Technician, traveled to the island to facilitate the blood donor drive, and enjoyed free accommodations generously provided by the Pineapple Fields Resort.

In addition to local and winter resident walk-in participants, approximately thirty (30) students from the Central Eleuthera High School contributed to the blood drive, providing a significant portion of the blood collected.
