The island of New Providence is currently facing a serious outbreak of Canine Distemper Virus, a dangerous and often fatal disease in pet dogs. To assist those less fortunate and their pets, the Bahamas Humane Society continues to provide free vaccine clinics and will be hosting two this week:

Wednesday, October 22, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Super Value, Golden Gates, on Carmichael Road

and on

Friday, October 24, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Coke Memorial Methodist Church on Bernard Road in Fox Hill.

The clinics are free of charge and are aimed at establishing a “ring of immunity” within New Providence to protect our pets. Please bring your pets to get this important vaccine.  If you attended a previous vaccine clinic, please be sure to bring your dog for its second vaccine.

Further locations and dates will be announced soon. Contact the Bahamas Humane Society at 323-5138, check the Bahamas Humane Society website at www.bahamashumanesociety.com, visit our Facebook page, or follow us on Twitter @BHumane242.”
