(Nassau, Bahamas) – Two Bahamian male pilots ages 48 and 37 years along with a 23 – year old Canadian man are in custody after they were arrested following what police are calling a huge drug seizure at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA)on Monday 7th April 2014.
According to reports, around 8:00pm, Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) Officers assisted by officers from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) acting on intelligence went to the Executive Flight Support section at the LPIA, where they conducted a search of a Hawker Jet that had just arrived to the Bahamas from Montreal Canada.
During the search, the officers found Four (4) suitcases containing 149 pounds of Marijuana, 17.4 pounds of Esctasy Pills and 2.6 pounds of Hashish Oil. The
three suspects were then taken into custody and are expected to appear in court later this week to face several drug related charges.
