(Eleuthera, Bahamas) Ladies from surrounding communities came together in Tarpum Bay at the Eleuthera Arts and Cultural Center (EACC) this past Sunday afternoon on the occasion of the PINK Tea Party and Hat Show sponsored and hosted by the One Eleuthera Foundation and the EACC.
It was a successful event, designed to bring women together, and Community Outreach Coordinator of the One Eleuthera Foundation and Susan G. Komen, Maisie Pinder, took advantage of the opportunity to give vital health tips to the fifty ladies present, on how to care for their own breast health.
The elegantly decorated Art’s Center welcomed the ladies adorned in hats of all shapes and sizes. Tables were richly set with beautiful chinaware owned by various households of Tarpum Bay. There was a spectacular display of hats available for those that came ‘hatless’. Hats ranged from as old as 50 years. Teas, hot and cold and delicious pastries of all assortments were beautifully displayed for the ladies’ choosing and overall everyone appeared to have had a grand time participating in fun table activities and getting to know each other better.
In the midst were a few cancer survivors who were recognized, encouraged and assured of the support of the ladies present.
The afternoon culminated with special thanks from Audrey Carey, Executive Director of the Eleuthera Arts and Cultural Center and then some of the ladies had fun modeling and dancing in their beautiful hats.
