On Wednesday, November 13th, 2013, shortly after 12pm, a red Ford F150 crashed through the walls of the Road Traffic Department in Governor’s Harbour, and into the service office area, where a Road Traffic employee was located at the time.  Fortunately, the employee nor the driver was seriously injured.

An eyewitness shared that the driver of the vehicle involved had just completed being licensed and inspected, and was about to leave the parking lot in front of the Road Traffic office, when a malfunction occured with the gears mechanism resulting in the vehicle moving forward and into the building, rather than in reverse as intended.

A temporary plywood wall has been erected to seal the opening enabling the office to re-open on Friday.

The Road Traffic office, as a result was closed to the public the remainder of Wednesday, November 13th and on Thursday,  November 14th.  On Friday morning, November 15th, 2013, it  reopened to the public. Repairs are still ongoing to replace the damaged section of building wall, and are expected to be completed by Monday, November 18th, 2013.
