(Nassau, Bahamas) – Cable Bahamas’ NB 12 in New Providence on August 9th, showed a video clipping they described as being 8 minutes long that showed a police officer in North Eleuthera in a physical struggle with a man from Lower Bogue North Eleuthera, who the report said the officer had pulled over in his car with three other occupants. After a prolonged struggle, the video shows the officer discharging his weapon in the direction of the man’s legs.

Police in the Capital released this report on Saturday morning August 10th about the incident:
**POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING ELEUTHERA**
A 31 year old man of Lower Bogue, Eleuthera is in hospital after being shot by police. The incident reportedly occurred around 6:45 pm on Monday 5th August, 2013 and resulted in the suspect being shot to both legs. He was taken to local clinic, and later airlifted to the capital where he is detained in stable condition and in police custody.
During the incident, the officer was also injured and taken to hospital where he was treated and discharged. Active police investigations continue.
