Sunday night was **showtime** for 12 young girls of North Eleuthera vying, with their eager family members, to become the 2013 Little Miss Bluff in this the 19th year of the Annual Festivity and in Celebration of Forty Years (40) of Independence for the  country.

The pageant which got started on Friday evening with a motorcade through North Eleuthera, was hosted by the Bluff Homecoming committee at the Purple Mae Restaurant on Sunday, July 7th2013 in the run up to the Bluff Homecoming weekend. 

The little contestants showed off their poise and grace in a number of fashion segments as well as a question and answer challenge.

After the final segment where the young girls styled in fabulous formal dresses, it was then up to the judges to decide which contestant was most deserving of the coveted title of “Little Miss Bluff”. 

 

The twelve young contestants were:

  • Padera Cash (Miss Jasmine)
  • Shania Heastie (Miss Lilac)
  • Layla Isaacs (Miss Clover)
  • Allyana Henry (Miss Buttercup)
  • Sherlinda Ladresse (Miss Cherry Blossom)
  • Princess Joseph (Miss Water Lilly)
  • Tenaja Johnson (Miss Sunflower)
  • Rosie Joseph (Miss Morning Glory)
  • Jara Russell (Miss Hibiscus)
  • Robinjina Louismar (Miss Carnation)
  • Roseland Diejuste (Miss Blue ball)
  • Warrae Hudson (Miss Yellow Elder)


When the scores were tallied, five of the twelve contestants had made it to the top, including Miss Layla Isaacs – as fourth runner up, Miss Allyana Henry – third runner up, Miss Tenaja Johnson as second runner up, and Miss Warrae Hudson in the first runner up position. 

Miss Jara Russell (pictured above) was crowned as the new Little Miss Bluff, in front of a crowd cheering so loudly – it sounded more like a roar.

Miss Russell also ran away with titles for Best Float, Miss Popularity, Miss Photogenic, Best Evening Wear, and Best Costume.  Miss Amity was awarded to Miss Padera Cash.  Second and third positions in the Float parade competition were Miss Layla Isaacs and Miss Princess Joseph, respectively.

The Miss Teen Bluff pageant is slated to take place on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Homecoming site.
