Directly following the ecumenical service in South Eleuthera at the St. Anne’s School grounds, the All Star Eleuthera Youth Marching Band led a vibrant crowd through the streets of Rock Sound to the site of the South Eleuthera Mission where a traffic mirror had been recently installed, at one of the accident prone spots in the town.
The funds for the mirror had been raised by the Rock Sound Methodist Church youth program, in response to the recent spate of fatal traffic accidents on island.
Minister Damian Gomez, who had the honour of cutting the ribbon to reveal the new safety mirror, lauded the group of young people for taking the initiative to make a difference in their community, and pledged to donate $2,000 to their efforts, which included having mirrors installed at each dangerous corner throughout South Eleuthera.
