(Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands ) Representatives from the Rotaract Club of Eleuthera attended the 2013 Rotaract District 7020 Conference in Grand Cayman. Forty-seven clubs from ten countries were represented over four days of fellowship and learning (May 29-June2).

The Rotaract Club of Eleuthera was awarded Bronze level recognition for the District Rotaract Representative Award for Club Excellence. Eleuthera’s two year-old Rotaract Club celebrates two consecutive years of district recognition. In 2012, they were awarded Gold at the District 7020 Conference in Jamaica.

Club President Mark Daniels and Secretary Gacintha Gordon were in attendance. Conference events were designed to advance the objective of Rotaract: “fellowship through service,” through inspirational addresses, thought-provoking discussions, collaborative project planning activities, and development and training workshops.

“District conference created an opportunity for Mark and I to be trained in various club office positions, which increased our confidence and level of enthusiasm in being Rotaractors in a successfully functioning club,” said Secretary Gacintha Gordon. “Most importantly, it provided us with a chance to fellowship with other Rotaractors which allowed us to establish connections and build lifetime bonds that will aid in taking Rotaract Club of Eleuthera to new heights as we use our newly extended network and knowledge to continue to serve our community, placing service above self, “she added.

Reenergized Rotaractors including Mark Daniels, Incoming President and Vice President; Gacintha Gordon, Secretary; Jeremiah Sweeting, Treasurer; Ashley Akerberg, Club Service Chair; Latanya Adderley, Community Service Chair; Tiffany Gray, International Service Chair; and Past President, Kalin Griffin, met for their annual board meeting June 10, 2013 to plan events, activities, and speakers according to district calendar and themes for the upcoming Rotaract calendar year.

The Rotaract year culminates with a ceremonial change over of new elected officials June 21, 2013 and club activities will resume in August. The Rotaract Club of Eleuthera looks forward to continued growth and development in the upcoming year.
