(Nassau, Bahamas) RBPF Release:  A five (5) month of baby girl perished in a house fire and a 30 year old man was injured as he attempted to rescue the infant from a burning building on Sunday 12th May, 2013.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before 2:00 pm police received information of a house fire at Amos Ferguson Street, south of Cordeaux Avenue.

Police responded and met flames and heavy smoke emanating from the second floor of a two storey, stone building.

The child was discovered burnt beyond recognition after fire fighters extinguished the blaze.

The 30 year old man received injury to his left arm and was treated at the scene by EMS personnel.

At present the cause of the fire is unknown. Active police investigations continue.
