Summary of weekend games in the Eleuthera Junior Baseball League of Rock Sound

In Rock Sound on Saturday  April 6, 2013:

In  the Minor Division the (Spanish Wells) Slugger (4 & 0) stopped the (Green Castle) Scotia Bank Dragons (2 & 2) 22 to 2 in a game that was dominated by the Sluggers.  For the Sluggers Payden Roberts was the winning pitcher and Karter Roberts was the offensive player of the game. For the losing Dragons, Ezera Petty Jr. led the team with 2 hits.

In the Junior Division the (Spanish Wells) Contenders (4 & 0) and the (Rock Sound)  NuView Stingrays (0 & 4) were locked in another pitching duel again with Chandler Albury  and Kirby Albury of the Contenders combining for 14 strike outs, and Torreno Thurston and Deanjelo Young of the NuView Stingrays combined for 5 strike outs. The NuView Stingrays erupted for five runs in the bottom of the 5^th inning to tie the game on a grand slam home run by Alpheaus Cooper. However, the Contenders pulled off the win with 1 runs in the top of the 6^th inning on a RBI single by Kendrick Sweeting.

This Coming Week-End, April 13, 2013:

 Play continues in Spanish Wells.

·       11:30 am – Coach Pitch Division  – (Rock Sound)  Coco Plums vs.  (Spanish Wells) Hook n’ Jook.

·       1:15 pm – Minor Division – (Rock Sound) Sports Center Marlins vs. (Spanish Wells) Slugger .

·       3:00 pm – Junior Division (Rock Sound) NuView Stingrays vs. the (Spanish Wells) Contenders.

NOTE: Next week the Eleuthera Junior Baseball League of Rock Sound will be hosting the 2^nd annual BBF Mini (11-12) Tournament in Rock Sound. Participating teams will be from JBLN of Nassau, Grand Bahama Little League of Freeport, Exuma Little League of George Town – Exuma, Spanish Wells – Sluggers, and the Rock Sound – Sports Center Marlins.
