Eleuthera had a good opportunity to cheer in prime time on Sunday night for one of the island’s own, as Kieanna Albury of Lower Bogue anchored the Bahamas’ under 20 women’s 4x100m team to a commanding victory.
It was the only victory for the home team in the coveted sprint relays on Sunday, with the U20 men’s race going to Jamaica after the baton was dropped by team Bahamas, the U17 girls and U17 boys both also going to Jamaica with team Bahamas bringing home the two U17 bronze medals.
LOOK out for Central Eleuthera’s Andre Colebrooke in the U20 men’s 800m Monday afternoon.
