Members of the New Developers Association for the James’ Cistern Clinic project accept a $5,000 donation from Shaner Bahamas Ltd., presented by representative, Mr. Eddie Lauth.

(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – New life was breathed into the James’ Cistern Clinic project on Wednesday, March 20th, 2013, when members of the ‘New Developers Association’ (a sub-committee of the James’ Cistern Town Council) accepted a $5,000 donation towards the completion of the clinic from Shaner Bahamas Ltd., represented by Mr. Eddie Lauth.

Present at the official cheque handover, were the dedicated individuals involved in this labour of love for the community, including, Warren Johnson (President), Marvin Pinder (Town Chairman), Bernadette Colebrook (Medical Liaison Officer – for the project), Pastor Orlando Thompson (Project Manager), Abraham McIntyre (Methodist Habitat), Kenrick Pearce  (Methodist Habitat), Gregory Rolle (Deputy Town Council Chairman), Dudley Johnson (Project Manager), Edmund Bethel (Town Council Member), and  Vonnia Pearce (Town Council Member).

Nurse Bernadette Colebrook, expressed her heartfelt thanks, on behalf of the Department of Public Health, and commented that no one was happier than she was to see the project coming closer to completion.  Colebrook also gave special commendation to the residents of James’ Cistern and Rainbow Bay for continuing to push the project forward, and not giving up on the initiative.

Abe McIntyre of the Methodist Habitat, also commented on the perseverance of all involved in the clinic project and thanked everyone for their support.  Pastor Orlando Thompson, also gave thanks for the current blessing and expressed his desire to move forward quickly.

President Warren Johnson gave thanks as well to Mr. Lauth and his organization for the timely donation, and briefly mentioned two additional projects the Association would likely take on after the completion of the clinic, which included an enclosure to house the James’ Cistern fire truck, as well as refurbishment of the children’s library.

Eddie Lauth responded to the thanks expressed, saying that principal Lance Shaner counted it a privilege to be able to contribute to such a cause, and hopes to participate even more in the future.


The James’ Cistern Clinic project site has had lots of materials and volunteer man hours invested to have brought it to its current state of near completion.  This recent donation from Shaner Bahamas Ltd. will now bring the project much closer to being finished, according to the Association responsible for the rebirth of the clinic.
