(Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas) – POLICE REQUESTS PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE IN HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION Police is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the suspect/s responsible for a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday 3rd February 2013, which has left a woman dead and a man detained in hospital.

According to Police reports, shortly before 1:00pm Police received a report of a shooting at a convenience store located on East Street opposite Kelly’s Lumber Yard. Minutes later Police arrived at the scene and met the lifeless body of a woman with a gunshot wound to the upper body and a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh.

The male was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition and the female was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary reports indicate, that shortly before 1:00pm a man armed with a handgun entered the convenience store and demanded cash.

The suspect then shot the woman and man before fleeing on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect is being described as being a dark male, slim built, 6’ in height, clad in a white t-shirt and blue jeans pants. Police has launched and Island-wide manhunt for the suspect and are appealing to members of the public who may have any information regarding this incident to contact POLICE at 919 or at 328-TIPS (New Providence) or 300-8476 (Family Islands)
