A message on Majority Rule Day by His Excellency, Sir Arthur Foulkes, Governor General of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas will be read by Principals of all public schools on Thursday, 10th January, 2013.  That day is the 46th Anniversary of Majority Rule and in observance of the 40th Anniversary Independence, Minister of Education, Science and Technology, The Honourable Jerome Fitzgerald has announced that all public schools will hold a special assembly from 9:00 am – 9:45 am.  Minister Fitzgerald along with The Honourable Phillip Davis, Deputy Prime Minister will attend the assembly at C. I. Gibson Senior High School in Marathon Estates.  As a part of the occasion schools will also mount exhibitions and pay tribute to the men and women who were instrumental in achieving this milestone in Bahamian history.  Members of the public are invited to attend.
