The splendour of the costumes blended with the traditional rhythms of Bahamian Junkanoo were on display in Hatchet Bay on Christmas Day 2018 with locals and tourists out to take it all in. The rain earlier in the afternoon, did not cast a wet blanket on the two groups from Tarpum Bay and Hatchet Bay, who gave it their all in capturing the attention of the snapping cameras and focused eyes. This was the first of this season’s Junkanoo Parades, followed by Boxing Day and New Year’s ‘rushing’ in Harbour Island and it will happen in fantastic manner in Governor’s Harbour during the second weekend of the new year on Saturday evening, January 12th, 2019 (see event details here).
The Gallery (Page 2) displays about 300 photos from the event.
