(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Architect, Alvan K. Rolle, contracted by the government to prepare plans for the long-proposed Mini-Hospital for the island of Eleuthera, met with the Local Town Planning Board in Central Eleuthera on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 to get an official sign off on the proposed building plans.  There has been no formal announcement on any upcoming works pertaining to the proposed Mini-Hospital but with this move having been taken and 2017 elections around the corner that may soon change.

During the meeting, Mr. Rolle described the now procured acreage in Palmetto Point for the facility as being approximately 13 acres, and the building plan size as just under 39,000 square feet.  According to Mr. Rolle, the design of the facility makes improvements on the ones in Abaco and Exuma, and would offer a variety of modern healthcare services if it were to become a reality.  The construction period is currently scheduled as 18 to 24 months, he said, and hopes are to begin construction within 3 months.
