According to Immigration OIC for the Eleuthera District, Shema Darling, the Wednesday morning, October 28th, illegal immigrant landing near Bannerman Town was one of the more organized that they have seen.
Sometime early Wednesday morning a vessel dropped off several dozen illegal Haitian immigrants, before leaving the area. Eyewitnesses further reported that several vehicles were seen that morning leaving the same area.
Police and Immigration have since then been able to apprehend 38 males who on Thursday were transferred to New Providence on Pineapple Air flights. They have also been able to ascertain that the landed group consisted of approximately 55 people (41 men and 14 women).
On Friday, authorities said they were actively in pursuit of the suspected 3 male and 14 female illegal immigrants from the vessel who are still at large.
