(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – On Sunday afternoon, January 4th, 2015, Mr. Lionel Rolle, Ministry of Works Chief Controller Officer in Eleuthera, based in Governor’s Harbour, briefly reviewed the site of the sink hole, which developed along the bay front road in Governor’s Harbour on Friday, January 2nd.

Heavy machinery was present on site,  which had been used on Saturday, January 3rd, to excavate the opening of the hole from four to nearly twenty feet in length, seeking to determine the size of the fault.

Mr. Rolle, who had recently returned on island, confirmed that the Ministry of Works will be facilitating the repair of the damaged road as soon as possible.  He also stated that a more detailed inspection of the sink hole area would take place on Monday, January 5th, to determine the scope of works necessary to complete the job.
