Investigators from New Providence were seen on the scene of Monday’s accident on Wednesday. The debris from the collision is seen in the photograph on the side of the road, where the vehicle driving north should be located. The deceased was travelling south.

(Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Accident scene investigators, of the Royal Bahamas Police Force – from New Providence, were in Eleuthera this week on the scene of the fatal accident in Rainbow Bay that claimed the life of a USA resident, identified in published reports as  56-year-old Walter B. Boname.

Police reports indicate that at about 11:00 p.m. on Monday, 4th February 2013, Officers from the Governor’s Harbour & Hatchet Bay Police Stations responded to the scene of the traffic accident on Queens Highway, Rainbow Bay involving two vehicles. 

The deceased had been driving south in  a 1996  Chevy Lumina, when he collided with a 1999 Chevy Malibu being driven by, a local resident, who was travelling north.  The driver of the Chevy Malibu along with his passenger and three passengers from the Chevy Lumina (2 American and One Bahamian) were transported to New Providence for evaluation and treatment of injuries sustained in the accident.

We have also learned that the Bahamian passenger in the Chevy Lumina is the brother of the only passenger in the Chevy Malibu.
