Chris and Alison Gosling

Dear Sir,

Many people in central Eleuthera know that Alison and I recently left the island after almost 30 years. During that time, we were privileged to have taught hundreds of young Bahamian students, be involved in many social activities and accepted into the local community in Central Eleuthera.

It was one the hardest decisions we as a couple have ever made but personal considerations had to override our love of the island and warmth of the people. We have enjoyed being part of the community and especially our deep involvement with the local health services and of course the ambulance operation run by HACE. Both of us want to thank everyone for the experiences and wonderful society especially Palmetto Point that we were accepted into and became part of.

Finally, our leaving was an emotional event not made any easier by the overwhelming positive comments and sadness expressed by numerous people on learning of our leaving. In conclusion I would like to extend a special thank you to Kathy Colman and Lionel and Jay for the wonderful party held for us at the Sunset one Friday evening.

We would also like to thank the nurses of Hatchet Bay clinic who worked so hard to host another send off at Workers House last Saturday, their gesture and especially the unique Tee shirt gifts will always be remembered. Thank you once again to all our friends we will miss you dearly and hope to return soon to a place we came to call ‘Home’. Chris and Alison Gosling
