Demetrius Johnson, Chairman of the host Governor’s Harbour Cultural and Community Organization (GHCCO), commented following the weekend of Junkanoo Festival activities, saying, “We had some challenges coming on board, but it all came together.  Every year we try to improve the level and do some things a little different.  We added an element where we had some kids activities, we expanded the vendor offerings,  we changed up the site, and included the full bar for additional funding.  We had great success all around, and looking at the crowd that came out, I think it may have been the biggest we’ve seen in the last three years.  We hope and expect it to get even bigger and better.”  He added that all five participating groups are under a three-year contract including the GHCCO committee, with the main event sponsor, to participate in the Eleuthera Junkanoo Festival – with two years, 2019 and 2020 to go.  (See scores below)
